If you are a coach, parent or track and field enthusiast that has been interested in contributing to the sport of track and field by becoming a certified official the KTC - USATF Officials Certification this is the first step in making this wish a reality. This highly informative day long session will emphasise USATF (Youth and Open) and NFHS (High School) rules. This certification clinic will feature both classroom sessions at Hardin Valley Academy and hands-on sessions at Hardin Valley Academy track and field facility. Our goal is to have you prepared to officiate in area Middle School, High School and Youth Meets for the 2012 season and beyond.

9:00 – Welcome, introductions and clinic goals
9:10 – USATF Certification process
9:20 – Philosophy of Officiating
9:35 – Officiating Track Events (starter,umpire, clerk, etc.)
10:15 – Track Events hands-on
10:45 – Vertical Jumps presentation
11:15 – Vertical Jumps hands-on
11:45 – Lunch
12:45 PM – Horizontal Jumps presentation
1:15 – Horizontal Jumps hands-on
1:45 – Throws presentation
2:15 – Throws hands-on
3:00 – Officiating Other Areas
3:30 – Summary, Questions & Answers, Next Steps
4:00 – Opportunity to complete rules review on-site, take pictures for ID’s, etc.
