Tennessee State High School Track and Field Championships were held in

Murphreesboro May 21 - 25, 2007

KTC athletes bring home 13  individual state championships and  8 state champions along with a plethora of top finishes check out the day by day highlights below to see just how well they did

 

5/21/07 - William Blount HS's and KTC standout Danielle Sampley captures State AAA Pentathlon Crown to kick of a great week for KTC athletes - read all about it here: Pentathlon Champ

5/23/07 - KTC girls dominate 3200m runs at State Championships-- Haley Moody (Morristown West) - 2nd in AAA / Amber Zimmerman (Webb) 1st in Div II / Markie Voyles (Macon Co.) 1st in A-AA

5/24/07 - KTC girls come back strong in 1600 runs and run well again -- Moody - 3rd AAA / Zimmerman 1st Diviision II / Voyles - 1st A-AA (also 3rd in 800).  On the sprint and field side KTC girls were all over the track and field with the following outstanding performances:

Danielle Sampley - William Blount  AAA - 1st - 100H / 3rd - 200 / 2nd - 100 / 2nd - LJ

Ellen Wortham - Maryville AAA - 2nd - 300H / 3rd - LJ / 4th - 100H

Bianca Blair - Austin East - A-AA - 1st- 100H / 1st - 300H

Jenae Anderson - Austin East - A-AA - 1st - 100 / 1st - 200 / 2nd - 400

Holly Joiner - Austin East - A-AA - 3rd - 100 / 6th - 400 / 2nd - 200

Aurrielle Sherrod - West - AAA - 7th - 200

Jerronda Womack - West - AAA - 8th - 100

Sarah Canter - Bearden - AAA - 2nd - Discus

Taylor Rotella - Bearden - AAA - 5th - Shot Put

Madison Borden - William Blount - AAA - 7th Discus

5/25/07 - The final day or competition ended like it started on the 21st with KTC athletes leading the pack in all divisions.  This time it was the boys turn to shine:
