MEET / TRAVEL INFORMATION

AAU Southeastern District Championships - 11/17/07

All KTC Athletes must have a KTC team singlet whcih you can obtain at the Runners Market (865-588-1650) prior to the competition.    

Please arrive at Victor Ashe Park no later than 1 hour prior to your scheduled event.  Remember we will be combining age divisions in

"same distance" races to expidite the meet schedule.  For exact race start times and meet information click Race Start Times

Please make sure that you have the following:

1. Team Uniform
2. Meet Entry Fee of  $14.00 made out to KTC - You can bring your meet entry fee to the meet - KTC Team will be set up in the picnic shelter.   This is where you can pick up your bib numbers and pay your entry fee.
3. Please be prepared to go to the Nationals since historically 98% of our athletes have qualified out of this meet to the Nationals
4. There is no need to enter the district meet -- you must simply email Marty Sonnenfeldt (tennrunner@aol.com) that you will be competing prior to 11/14.  We will take care of the rest.

Footlocker South Regional Championships - 11/24/07 - MaCalpine Greenway Park - Charlotte, NC                               

 The KTC Team will be traveling to the prestegious Footlocker South Regional Meet where 3000 runners from 15 states gather for the

29th running of this fall classic.  There you will see some of the best High School distance runners in the region.  There is also a full

schedule of races for age group athletes younger than High School age.  In order to participate in this meet I will need the following no

ater than 11/20.

1. Entry Blank filled out with entry fee of $15.00 made out to Footlocker Cross Country.  Please do not mail in your entry directly to Footlocker.  Either mail it to the PO Box listed below or drop it off at the Runners Market (Kingston Pk - Location).  We must recieve your entry blanks no later than 11/20.  Click links below for entry info and blanks.

2. The KTC Team will leave via bus 11/23/07 from the Ingles parking lot in Karns (Oak Ridge Highway) at 9:00 AM  Once in Charlotte we will pick up our packets and head to the course for a course jog (taget time 3:30 PM).  We will then check into the hotel and eat out together as a team

3. The KTC team will be staying at :

      If you plan to travel and stay with the team you must reserve space with Marty Sonnenfeldt no later than 11/21 - We encourage

      you to travel and stay with the team

4. Bus and Hotel Fees = $80.00 - Made payable to Knoxville Track Club.  You may mail this payment in or bring it with you to the       bus.  Bring enough money for 4 meals / KTC Uniform and warm clothing.

5. The Bus will return from Charlotte after the final race of the day 2PM and we will be calling parents for pickup times at the Ingles in Karns as we get closer to Knoxville.

Cross Country Coaches Youth National Championships - 12/1/07                                                                                                              

KTC will take part in this first time National Youth Championships on 12/1/07 to be held at Masterson Station Park in Lexington, KY

We will qualify individuals to this meet at the AAU Southeastern District Champioships in Knoxville 11/17.  If for some reason you are not

able to run on 11/17 there are a variety of other qualifying criteria you can use to get into the meet.  Please contact Marty Sonnenfeldt if

you have questions regarding alternative qualifying (tennrunner@aol.com).

1. KTC Bus will leave Ingles Parking Lot at 11:30 AM 11/30/07.  We will drive straight to the course for a course jog and then check into the hotel and eat together as a team.  At the conclusion of the meet (4PM) we will return to Knoxville stoping on the return for dinner.  We should return to the Ingles parking lot around 9:30 PM.  Athletes will call parents enroute to advise of exact arrival time.
