Knoxville, TN - With the school year starting KTC Youth Athletics is gearing up for a great fall cross country season. The starting gun goes off on the 2010 KTC Elementary / Middle School Cross Country program September 7 with our first meet at Victor Ashe Park. Its not to late to start and sign up your team or child for this fitness filled 8 week program. If you are interested in starting a program at your school or took part in the 2009 program we encourage you to review the information for coaches and parents by clicking on the logo below to be directed to our program web page. | 9/2/10 - Knoxville, TN. - Lay the foundation for a successfull 2011 Indoor and Outdoor track season by signing up for the KTC Off-Season Conditioning Program. Three sesions per week starting in September and running through December provide the much need training base for sprinters / hurdlers / jumpers and throwers as they prepare for the 2011 season. 8/7/10 - Norfolk State University - KTC Athletes compete well at the worlds largest track and field meet- the 2010 AAU National Championships. Congratulations to all athletes and coaches on great meet. KTC Athletes produced 36 Top 20 finishes / 12 Top - 10 finsihes and 7 Medalists.

7/17/10 - Knoxville, TN - The second annual All Kreatures Chocolate Mile Mile was a huge success raising over $300.00 for the Markie Voyles Adopt-a-Kid Program. Overall winners were Matt Sonnenfeldt in 4:50.30 besting last years record set by MacLean Odonell. Matts time is now #2 in the world chocolate milk mile list. Girls winner was Rebecca Stover in 7:22.43

7/8-11/10 - Knoxville, TN - KTC's Competitive Team swept girls, boys and overal team honors at the AAU Area 5 National Qaulifier at Hardin Valley Academy. Over 40 teams from 5 states participated in the four day national qualifier. Top 4 finishers puched thier ticket to compete at the AAU National Championships at Norfolk State in two weeks. 80 KTC individuals and 12 KTC relays qualified for the National Championships starting in August. 6/27/10 - Knoxville, TN - Over 600 athletes including KTC's compeitive team participated in the Southeastern AAU District meet hosted by KTC at Tom Black Track this past weekend. Competitng under temperatures in the mid 90's athletes from three states posted marks to advance them to the Area 5 National Qaulifier in two week. Knoxville, TN - Many thanks to all that participated in this summers KTC Summer Track and Field Program. We hope that you continue to have a safe and healthy summer and look forward to seeing you in the fall for KTC's Elementary / Middle School Cross Country Program. For those that were unable to pick up thier program T-Shirt at thier practice site they will be available at Runners Market in Bearden after July 4.

| Indianapolis, IN - Track and Field is the most popular high school sport for girls in the USA in 2008-2009. With over 457,000 participants outdoor track and field remained the most popular sport for girls in the United States based on an annual report released by the NFHS. On the boys sdie track and field was second (football first) with 558,000 participants. Combine these totals along with girls and boys cross country and 1,445,000 kids took part in high school track and field or cross country.
